SANTA CLARA, CA December 15, 2004 Enigma Semiconductor, Inc., a
leading provider of network semiconductors, announced the election of industry veteran
Steve Kleiman to its Board of Directors. The addition of Mr. Kleiman to the Board
continues Enigma's strategy to drive market leadership through a world-class organization
and exemplary technology.
Enigma is developing efficient, advanced solutions for networking and storage markets.
The company was founded to develop and exploit novel architectural concepts and integration
opportunities for future communications systems. Initial products will enable system
developers to build new devices and upgrade existing systems to efficiently deliver 10G and
40G capabilities and services.

invaluable insight into the application of Enigma's technology into our target markets,"

Mr. Kleiman is currently Senior Vice President, Engineering and Chief Technology Officer
of Network Appliance (Nasdaq: NTAP). In his current position, he is responsible for setting
future technology and product directions for the company. Mr. Kleiman began his career at
Bell Telephone Laboratories in 1977. From there, he moved to Sun Microsystems as
Distinguished Engineer and chief architect of clustered UNIX systems, eventually joining
Network Appliance in 1996. Outside of his many industry accomplishments, he is well regarded
as a speaker and panelist at industry events and conferences.
Mr. Kleiman earned his master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University
and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.
